CONTRIBUTORS OF THIS WEB PAGE
Prof. Dr. Tufan KORAY Dr. KORAY is a professor of biological sciences at the University of Ege, Izmir. His research activities are focussed on the marine microplankton and toxic / harmfull species community dynamics. KORAY's current research focuses on identifying the causes and consequences of algal blooms in polluted and aquaculture areas. His papers cover the microplanktonic species distribution at Turkish seas and are also in numerical ecology and biometrics.
Prof. Dr. Şevket GOKPINAR Dr. GOKPINAR is a professor of aqacultural sciences at the University of Ege, Izmir. For about the past 15 years, GOKPINAR has been working on the culture of the micro-algae, primarily specific growht constants of each species. Currently he is developing a program of field and laboratory research to isolate toxic algae for culturing the local species.
Dr. Levent YURGA Dr. YURGA began his career at the University of Ege, Izmir. His research includes studies of microplankton community dynamics in heavily polluted waters especially diversity variations presented by high nutrient loads in lagoons and bays. Current researches examine the microplankton biomass and size structure interactions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr.
Muhammet TURKOGLU
Dr. TURKOGLU is an associate professor of Fisheries Faculty at the Onsekiz Mart University of Canakkale. His research has involved studies in Ege, Black Sea and dardanelles. He has been interested in microplankton species distribution and ecology in coastal habitats. Research interests also include accumulation of heavy metals in microplankton cells, nutrient cycling and phytoplankton production in brackish water /marine ecosystems.
Assoc.Prof. Dr.
Sevim POLATDr. POLAT is an associate professor of biology at Graduate School of Science in Faculty of Fisheries, Cukurova University, Adana. Dr. POLAT' s research concerns ecology of planktonic organisms with a particular interest in nutrients. She has ongoing collaborative research with a number of colleagues at other universities. She has been still working on marine phytoplankton taxonomy, ecology and primary production.

Fatma ÇOLAK SABANCI
Fatma received her B.S. in Faculty of Fisheries in 1996 from Ege University. As an undergraduate she worked on eutrofication of lakes in Hydrobiology. Her master's work on the "Qualitative and Quantitative Distribution of Microplankton of Izmir Bay" was completed in 2000 at Faculty of Fisheries. Her current research activities compraise harmful and toxic marine microalgaes, plankton ecology and eutrofication of the coastal zones.
